Dust to Dust

Well, I can finally get back to real life (paying bills, etc) because the Broker was here yesterday and took the photographs of my clean house.  Of course it was a very dismal, rainy day so not many shots were taken of the outside of the house.  This is good because I did’nt have time to wash the siding.  People will just have to think that we are slobs on the outside but clean on the inside where it matters.  I also didn’t clean the barn, which is going to rear its ugly head at me soon when people start coming to the store and have to bulldoze to get into it.  I did get a good shot of the outside (the others that I got were through a window and I won’t show you those because you have to look through my reflection to see the barn and I think I am now bigger than the barn!

The barn is now full of all the things that were on the front porch and that didn’t need logging in.  So, the porch now looks like this:

The things that DID need logging in were put onto my Aunt Lena’s (another story) cot behind the French door in my office and my sweetie “Spider” and P’s puppy “Harryit”  were told to guard them.  “Sam” decided that he wasn’t going to have anything to do with it and is seen leaving the room.

As for the kitchen, it’s clean but I never ordered wooden knobs for the cabinets.  It’s getting so that whenever I go in there, all I see are white knobs.  However, Paul says it’s a great kitchen to work in and he doesn’t care what color they are and if we never sell the house and get old and blind here he will always be able to find the cabinets.

I was very happy to see that Paul cleaned his office because I’ve told him that I won’t step foot into it because he never cleans it.  Since he did such a good job, I did go in and wax the floors:

He even cleaned his bathroom.  This is another room that I refuse to enter.  This way I never nag him about whether the cover is up or down.

I suppose that if neither bathroom was ever cleaned we could spend our time on the back porch, which is screened in.  (Screened in or not – bees always seem to come in!)

The “biggest” thing about this house that I am going to miss is the huge master bedroom.  Because Paul has always used me as a pillow and because I have two dogs pushing me and he has one, I purchased another waterbed and we can get a great night’s sleep if we want.  Also, I like the windows open and he doesn’t.  No matter how much you try or how long you are together I believe you should also keep true to your own self.

And, for you my dear readers I’ve left the best room for last.  Your room, should you come and visit!

As an aside, the last posting I had arranged with all the pictures under all the captions and when I put it into print it mixed them all up.  I’m pretty naive about technical things and I certainly hope that this one will turn out correctly!

Noodles!

    • Thanks Ruby. It doesn’t usually look this well. Usually it is faded because of the dust. Hopefully, if it sells, we will be moving back to Maine aka “The way Life Should Be” aka “Lobsterland” yumyumyum. Good to hear from you.

  1. Wow! If I wanted to live in New York I would consider buying this house intact!!! What a great house keeper you are! Tell P. I agree the white cabinet pulls give it that old vintage look.
